Isolation is lessened and solidarity created. Groups are a safe way to experiment with situations that are ordinarily uncomfortable. The support of team members helps participants to gain assertiveness and gain a greater sense of self esteem. Group work is also a great way to bridge therapies and put to pracice what has been learned in individual work.
Art therapy groups can also be play time, stress release time, and "wild abandon"- in essence, WELLNESS!
